I found this walker to fit my needs perfectly. It was easy to assemble, transport and use. It is sturdy and it makes it easy to walk without putting pressure on the wrists, or hurting your back. It is a definite departure of the traditional walker, as it allows for better posture while walking. You can adjust the height of the arm rests to suit your height needs, as well as the length of the handle bars. Also, it has a small, but sturdy seat for the times when you need a little break. Overall, this is a great product!

Wife has a sprained knee and is recovering from a broken wrist operation. Standard walkers were not usable because of the healing wrist. She was wheelchair dependent with helper (me). An upright walker with support from the forearms was the best solution to provide independent freedom of movement. After much research, we selected this Elenker model because of features, good design, and value. Galenus Medical delivered it half way across the country in 2 days… much appreciated! It assembled fairly easily. It is very well thought out and built. Comfortable to use. At this early stage of use, I rate it 5 stars.Suggested improvements: I left off the cane/umbrella holder because it added width of about an inch which makes doorway clearance tighter for narrow doorways… the holder needs relocating where it does not add width. The brake cables hang out in mid-air and could be better routed to avoid catching on things. I would love sit-to-stand grab/push bars built into the frame to help handicapped users get up from the seat easier. These are suggestions that would improve an already good product.

Assembling is a bit challenging for me to do alone as I have severe arthritis in my right hand and my husband has too much shaking in this hands to be of help. Although all in all, I did have it assembled in less than 1 hour. I am still unable to figure out where to attach the cane holder. The cup holder that was recommended as an add on was not able to fit without modification, I had to purchase a longer screw in order to make it work. Instructions were not really clear on assembly. The unit is sturdy, the wheels move well, and navigates around corners really well. The little footstep area to help assist in getting over some obstacles is a bit difficult for someone with Parkinson’s to navigate without losing their balance, and in my husbands’ situation, he is unable to see it due to the color being black along with black wheels, I have added reflective paint to provide offset color for visually impaired. I have also added a light to help with being seen as well as his being able to see. While the product itself is great and very nice size bag. It is a heavy-duty unit. Very pleased, the things that I did were things that are suggested things you may want to consider, based on what your needs are.

I love my new walker. I have the standard rolater that I purchased several years ago, but due to severe stability issues with my knees I had fallen several times because the rolater is in front of you and you are pushing with your hands and arms away from the body. With the upright your arms and hands are comfortably resting closer to the body and unlikely to cause a fall by rolling away from you. Also your posture is better therefore no curvature of the spine that often comes with age and disability. I have received a lot of questions about the price and I am not ashamed to tell everyone it is affordable. I previously checked out several medical supply companies and had decided I would have to stick with a standard walker or wind up in a wheelchair because my Medicare would pay for them, I now tell everyone to check with Galenus Medical first. Unfortunates they do not come assembled so ask a family member or friend that is good with directions and handy for help assembling! The cup/ phone holder are nice but hard to clamp to the frame, I don’t think they are made by the same company. My husband attached mine between the hand grips and the frame hangs down so it does not fit in your way.

This item went together easily, has lots of nice features and looks spiffy. BUT, bumping on the slightest crack in the pavement or edge of a carpet, never mind a threshold, causes it to fall forward. Strangely, there are no warnings or instructions that would have prepared us for this risk and this happened to my 89-year-old mom the very first time she took it out for a spin. Thank-goodness she only had a sore back and sore knees after the fall and nothing worse (at least so far, her back is still bothering her though so fingers-crossed it gets better soon). Please, if you need an upright walker, find one that has front wheels further forward or has some other safety feature to prevent the higher center of gravity from taking you or your loved one to the ground. The company was responsive but initially only offered to repay $30 and recommended she could use it only indoors. Since that isn’t needed, or safe, they were reasonable enough to refund the full price.

My mom is struggling with Parkinson’s and started to fall. I saw the 500 dollar stability walker for Parkinson’s but thats just too much. This has been a blessing and its sturdy. Its also great to move around with but you do need some space because it can be hard for small spaces.I will say it was a pain to assemble. The video instructions I had to play over and over again. The screws can be tough because its the ones you just push through, but the groves make it tough. My fingers turned blue.Nonetheless, its a great walker, my mom uses the seat feature to sit while waiting for her food to heat up in the kitchen or if she is using the stove.Oh and there are no instructions on how to attach the bag. They aren’t clear anyway.
