This was easy to assemble. This is rated for 350 lbs. and it feels sturdy enough to handle that. One thing I noticed is its lightweight. I like the big white painted pipes that make the arms and legs. This is an excellent commode.There are two things I recommend:1. Get some commode bags and pads.2. When you put a fresh bag in the commode, take a cotton ball and put a drop of essential or fragrance oil on it and tape it to the side inside the bag. It will help with odor control. The bags, pads, and oil can all be found on Galenus Medical.

Not a subject you really want to talk about, but this commode deserves high praise. Earlier in the year we purchased a highly rated commode – extra sturdy, extra wide and comfortable, but had horrible results with it. The reason was that the design of the standard commode has a lid that lifts, and that lid extends fully to the front of the unit. The intent is to use the commode in that position, but we found with my elderly father that trying to use the open front design with the basin below it just ended up getting the floor wet – you think you’re doing everything correctly but your liquid is just flowing through the open frame onto the floor. He used it once and never again.This unit is different. The lid is fully within the seat, which means when you lift it, the entire front of the design is still above the bucket portion. This means when you do your business, but liquid and solids go where they belong. This is a huge win and improvement over other regular commodes.The design is also great. It comes in a small box and is easy to assemble. The frame and seat are very sturdy and comfortable for average size people – might be snug for bigger people. The arms are very secure and help to stabilize when getting on and off.The flat seat design takes a little time to get used to, since it doesn’t have the feel of a regular seat – you’re basically sitting on a hole. But the compact size of the space between the armrests makes sure you’re properly positioned. The bucket can be removed from the front or back, and in general this commode does as much as possible to make the experience of using a commode the least unpleasant as one could hope for. Highly recommended.

It was smaller than appeared in the picture and did not feel very stable for a larger person. Looked very nice, just made for a smaller person.
