I have used several 2 point discrimination tools in practice, this one is by far the best. It is much better than bending paperclips and trying to estimate the distance between. I have used the plastic disc versions which are also good, but if you drop the plastic ones, the tips break off almost immediately. I like the metal tips on this one, they are solid and I think they give a good pressure for the test. The only downside of the device is the price. It seems ridiculous that a plastic disk with some metal prongs would cost this much, but I guess that is the going rate. The price is the only reason I gave it 4, rather than a 5.
