  1. Reality Wins

I’m home now all the time. Even walking around periodically, did not take away this muscle laxity and weirdness I feel, mostly sitting. Once a day I use a terrific eclipse for 30 min. With a weight vest. It does not do what this very easy to assemble mini cycle does in terms of gentle total chi moving around the body feeling. I’m quiet surprised. Very happy with this. You won’t be disappointed. I have very bad knees and can adjust my sitting position to have no pain but still pedal as hard as I like. There is enough resistance to get me out of breath, which I didn’t expect at all.My experience: After just a few gentle minutes on this thing, I noticed my core was really exercised. In a comfortable but straight back chair, peddling about three minutes at an easy pace, I had a light sweat. I don’t even get that from walking, ever, unless it’s hot outside. I noticed my hands and arms tingled andI felt circulation all over; calves included. My thighs were working. Something I just don’t get in a chair all day long, even lifting my legs up and down for circulation. To husband; hands off my little bike. You said you didn’t want it. IT’s mine. I have atrial fib and am on a light dose of blood thinner. I was really beginning to worry with this “stay at home” order. I’ve read it is not enough to sit most of the day and exercise even once for an hour. Moving is essential to keep the arteries pliable, with a good diet as well. How it feels; only a few minutes on this, I’m going to bed for the first time in weeks, without that weird itchy feeling in my muscles, as if I need a massage or I just haven’t had a good day of lots of moving around. My chi feels like it’s really circulating throughout my whole body. Feet, upper arms, back etc. Maybe it’s just me but in my distant past, I did martial arts, ballet. I know what good after exercise feels like. Physically, frankly, it’s a relief to feel my body is getting fed by moving the blood around. A half hour “after” I used this for about ten gentle easy minutes, I feel this relief physically….like I took a great walk and really got my circulation going. My core feels like it did most of the work in a very gentle way….this was exactly my goal. How I’ll use it; I intend to use it while listening to news, desk work. Feeling sluggish or needing to get my body moving. Surprised by this. I’ll be using this periodically during the day, while using my iPad especially, to stop sitting while I do that for long periods of time. Scary to think of not moving for months during this “stay at home.” This will prevent long term decline for sure.Assembly; never used a tool supplied but probably will tighten things up a bit. It feels so sturdy. Stable. Yet very light. Easily carried from room to room. I could not be more pleased. Completely quiet! Small looking actually but solid looking as well. Very few parts, smooth and easy to unscrew the 4 bolts, stick them in and it’s done. Put 2 pedals on…done.

First off, let me tell you that I tried one of those cheapies, the folding kind, and if you want to waste your time and money, go ahead and get one. I cant even open a bottlecap right now, and the folding ones werent enough force for me to get stronger on. I returned it, and got this one instead. And, WOW, what a difference! The good:Putting it together is easy easy (except I needed help, but I am a special case right now, with no strength). 4 bolts, and 2 pedals, and 2 batteries (and 2 foot straps). All of it went together super easy (I am using it for purely tabletop right now, so am not using the straps).I set it at 1, and there is no resistence. I set it at 2, and I feel a workout in just a couple minutes (all I can stand right now. I have had neck surgery on 2 disks, and 3x on lower back, and my muscles are so weak I cant do much, which is why I bought this: To get stronger). My wife tried it on 8, and it was hard for her, and she is strong, so once I get to going up in resistance, I know it will be good forever for meThe Pedals are awesome, and have finger shapes on one side of them, and palm shape on the other side, so that they dont hurt like those cheapy folding ones did. There are no sharp edges on the Pedals at all, or anywhere near them. The Display actually works (unlike the folding one I had), and it starts up as soon as you start peddling. You can have it keep your progress from every workout by just leaving it alone after your workout, or you can reset it by holding in the big red button. Perfect for me, as I like it reset every day, but dont remember what I did the day before-I can start peddling to see what my time and distance was, then hold red button to reset and see if I can beat my time and distance (although I have only had it a couple days, I have already done this this afternoon when I worked out).My wife bought some of that non-slip stuff for the tabletop (the stuff that mechanics put in their drawers so tools dont slide around, or for kitchen drawers were you dont want stuff sliding around, same stuff), so the Minibike doesnt slide at all. Also, my wife says it is heavy enough to not slide anyway, but was easy-ish for her to move around.I have not had any sounds from the unit, it is entirely silent. It does not heat up like the folding one did.The bad (or, not so good, really, there is nothing really bad on the unit I got):It smells. And, I mean, it smells BAD! It smells like a dirty locker room. It smells like an entire football team stood above it after practice and sweated all over it. A little cleaner and a rag should sort out the smell though. I am sure this is an assembly line piece, that someone actually did sweat on, or multiple someones sweat all over. Pee-yooThe distance to the pedals is more than the cheapy folding ones was. This hurts my neck more, and rolls my shoulders forward a bit to be able to reach it (and I am 6 foot 2 inches tall, and the Minicycle is at the very edge of the table). I hope this wont be a problem for me in the long run. I may have to buy the arm things, like they have at the Physical Therapy place, so that it will be closer to me and I wont have to strain and hurt myself (remember, I am in bad bad physical shape, very very weak, and even just sitting hurts me, so if you arent as bad off as I am then you should not have any issues).

I ride a stationary bike at my local gym four days a week. I typically ride for 4-7 miles each time. I wanted a bike to use at home, for on the weekends and in the evenings when I was sitting around watching TV. After reading several fitness blogs and reading the reviews here on Galenus Medical, I decided on this Sunny Health and Fitness Mini Exercise Bike.Out of the box all I had to do was screw on the feet and the pedals, which probably took me no more than 10 minutes. Very easy and the tools needed are in the box.I love the handle on top, which makes it very easy to move from place to place or room to room. It’s heavy enough that it doesn’t slide around on our carpeting, but it’s not so heavy that I can’t move it. The unit takes AAA batteries (included) and it displays 7 different functions: Scan, time, speed, distance, calories, odometer and RPM.This mini bike is EXTREMELY quiet! There are 8 resistance levels, and I use levels 7 and 8. (The exercise bike I ride at the gym has 22 levels.) Still, level 8 gives me enough resistance that I feel like I am building muscle while “riding”. I have only used it for a week, but I am extremely pleased with it so far. My one and only complaint is that I don’t think it calculates the calories burned properly. It calculates about twice the calories per mile than the expensive bike at the gym, so I don’t even look at the calories, I just use the clock and ride it for about 30 minutes. For the price, I am elated with the quality and performance!
