Made the right choice. Meets our needs & then some! First, I have to give props to JDCSupplies. We purchased it on a Saturday & I emailed them with an inquiry that evening. I was Pleasantly pleased when one of their employees Responded by the very next morning, Sunday!! I was Concerned & confused by the description being “blue” but the photo showed a burgandy one, which we wanted. He replied, “Hello, Looks like the chair is blue, but we can switch it no problems. Thank you. Joe Jdcsupplies CustomerCare Rep.”So then I responded, “THANK YOU JOE!!! You Just Made Mine & My Husband’s Day!! 😀 😀 I am IMPRESSED with Your response time & attention, also that I now the Peace of mind to not worry about When I am going to get a response AND to know JDC Supplies is based on ‘Customer Service!’ I will be Definitely making a point to go onto Galenus Medical, your website, once we get our chair, to let EVERYONE know this too!!! Well done Joe… Well done JDC!! We know WHO we will go to for Any future purchases of medical equipment, and we will Definitely refer our family & friends. Plus, I am on Facebook with just under 300 FB family & friends, I’ll also be posting a Link to JDC Supplies for people to “Share” on their walls too!!! I know this all sounds a bit, ‘overwhelming’ … but, when someone has shown us such Good deeds.. we believe people Need to ‘take the time’ to praise them. More people are too busy making sure they complain about, sometimes ridiculous things..they need to also make sure they take the time to, as I mention, praise. So with that, I Will follow through. We look forward to receiving our chair…we are in dire need for making travel to doctor appointments, & even a treat to dinner, Out, for my Parents & my Mother in law. It’ll be a Blessing for them & Us too. Thank you again for your exemplary customer service, we Do appreciate. Sincerely, Bill & Evie F.”The chair is well made, sturdy & a nice looking chair aesthetically. By simply unlatching the rails that support the back support, you can fold it back. Then, easily pulling up on the seat, the chair automatically retracts to a narrow width. The footrests are easily removable too and you can remove them or leave them on Even when you ‘shrink it’ down for storage or travel. I have had 5 lower back procedures, so safety in lifting if important. It’s Lightweight & not awkward to pick up & put into the back of my car. I have a little Ford C-Max, (small/mid sized crossover), with the capability to fold down the back seat(s) for larger storage. I was Very Thrilled when I loaded it into the back storage section of my vehicle WITHOUT having to fold the seats down, which I needed for passengers! And, what I also discovered, I could leave the footrests ON too & still have enough room to put a duffle bag & my Dad’s walker on top of it!!One of the things that drew us to it too, were the larger wheels in the back. Makes for a smoother ride for your passenger & better capabilities over your terrain, concrete, asphalt, dirt, etc.We are Very pleased with our purchase, including the competitive pricing. Thank You JDCSupplies.. I Will make future purchases with confidence, should we have the need with your company & recommend all at the same time.Sincerely,Evie & Bill F.

I’ve been using this chair for about a month and am so grateful for it. My mom needs something to help her get around when she needs to leave the house and travel for longer distances than she can comfortably walk. I was initially worried that the seat area might be too small or feel too tight for my mom, who was about 200 lbs, but there are no problems with that at all. Someone in another review suggested getting a seat pad to make the seat more comfortable, and I 100% agree. It greatly adds to the comfort of the chair because I didn’t find it too comfortable without the pad. What I love about the chair is how lightweight and compact it is. When my mom needs to take a cab or get a ride in a car, the leg attachments come on and off very easily, the chair folds easily, the push handles also fold down to give it a smaller profile for stowing, and the chair is so lightweight that it’s easy to put in and out of a trunk or to carry up and down stairs. The locking mechanism is easy to access and is secure. Unlike a regular wheelchair, this transport chair is intended to be pushed by someone, not for the person seated to be able to push themselves, but I do wish there was a way that the seated person could have access to a/the locking mechanism so they could lock or unlock the chair themselves if necessary. My mom once used to the chair to scoot herself around the kitchen in order to cook and it was tricky for her to stand up and sit down with ease because she couldn’t access the brakes herself from a seated position and the brakes should be on as a person sits and gets up.Overall, I am thrilled with this chair and highly recommend it. The big wheels create a smooth ride and the material of the wheels allow me to kinda easily slide my mom over in the chair when on a smooth surface and I need more room to navigate in a small space. Highly recommended.

I love this wheekchair. It is easy to maneuver (I have a broken leg in a big cst) and I can get where I need to be in my house using my one good leg to propel forward and back if my caregiver is otherwise occupied . Seat i s strong and comfy. Whole chair is very well made. Came pretty much fully assembled. Light enough for husband tio.lift into car trunk with ease when I have to go to dr visits.. I was worried about getting it because our 1930’s era house has very narrow doorways to kitchen and washroom. But chair was rue to.measurements given online and I can squeeze through all doorways! Also love brakes which are easy for me to operate when I am in chair. Tires are very sturdy and give a smooth ride. Great wheekchair! At least for me iT is perfect! Not many products one can say that about! My husband was very impressed with quality and safety. A winner for sure!

Nice transport chair with a sturdy frame and bigger wheels for a smooth ride. Folding is quick and it is not that heavy to toss into the back of the SUV. Our last chair, all the wheels were the same size and felt flimsy compared to this new chair. When you measure for the chair, realize that the handles are the widest point. This adds to the comfort of the chair not digging into the rider’s back but also means your knuckles might feel the wall/door frame 1st. The adjustable foot rests are awesome and easy to pick the size.Could be better comments:The brake handles are a bit over sized though. If you buy medium gloves, you might find your hands strain to be on the handles and your fingers be in the brake levers. Compare to the brake handles in the pictures for Medline’s wheel chair or walking assist strollers, those handles look more like brakes you find on a bike that will fit more sizes of hands. There is also a “drag” feel in the wheels when pushing it. When we turn it over and spin the wheels, 2 spin freely and 2 only make a few rotations before stopping on their own. The wheels also aren’t true and when you spin them you can see a slight wobble as they move around. We do feel a slight pull to the left which is easy to compensate for. Also finding that the wheels don’t always stay on the ground when going over uneven surfaces. Few times one of the front wheels looses contact with the ground and spins bumping into the person’s foot. (like a shopping cart wheel might spin) Might try adjusting the middle pivot bars. Other transport chairs we have don’t have this problem over the same surfaces.Around the house we keep the foot rests off but use them when going out. The rest is just a flat surface so it depends on your shoe grip to keep your feet in place. Other chairs have a strap or notch for your heel to rest on so you can relax and not have to keep your feet there. Not a deal breaker for the chair!!Over all happy with the chair, glad we got it.

After researching wheelchairs for my husband who was just diagnosed with Parkinson’s, I decided to purchase the Medline Lightweight Foldable Transport Wheelchair. It arrived on time and was basically fully assembled. Instructions on how to use were easy to follow. The selling point for me was the oversized tires as they really help with movement. It’s light enough for me to handle alone getting in and out of the trunk of my car. Folds down easily to become compact. Definitely pleased with my purchase. I liked the color choice as well as the padded armrests. I’m keeping the box it came in just in case I need to return it for some odd reason. We are taking an afternoon adventure today to really try it out in public.

Chair works great – strong and relatively light – good balance for 150 pound patient. Folding and quick removeable footrests make transportation EZ. Just need a hook or two to hang bags, but no real complaints after a month of indoor use.

This is the best foldable wheelchair I’ve ever used! The larger, rugged wheels are a game changer! Each to push, has locking brakes for when stopped to enter/exit the seat, lightweight and folds for portability.

Perfect height, light weight & easy to collapse. Seat is on the narrow side but that works for me. Make chair easier to maneuver in tight spaces Nice color very good price. Great for shopping or around town square. Able to go places that were off-limits before! Handles are a good height for taller person to push

Everything is mostly identical except the elevating leg rests did not have the push in snap pin system for extending the leg length as shown in the ad image. The version we got was a black pipe (not silver) fitted inside the blue one and you have to loosen a bolt and pull the footrest part out then re-tighten the bolt back in place. It makes the version we got harder to adjust and the black pipe could stand to be a bit longer for longer legged people who need to elevate their legs. The box was beat up to all hell, but the chair was otherwise in new condition minus a few loose bolts that had to be tightened. The “drive” stickers that were placed on the outer sides of the thin plastic armrest panels were peeling off (curling away from the plastic) which was fine I just took them off and tossed them. One of the elevating leg rests didn’t want to go back down because the bolt was somewhat loose, which caused the bar to stay extended and the lever couldn’t be pushed to get the mechanism to release. Thankfully loosening the bolt more made it so we could get the mechanism to unlock, push the leg back down in place and tighten the end bolt back in place. Otherwise it is exactly as ordered, funnily enough the item was ordered from home depot, as there was an invoice slip on the box.Had I known that home depot had these I would have ordered directly from them. Initially I placed an order from amazon and it was to be shipped from amazon directly and was cheaper but there was no shipping date. I called after 2 days of not having a shipping date to ask about the shipping as we needed the chair quickly. after speaking with a csr i was told I would hear something about the shipping in 48 hours. The next day I went to check on it and found the order had been canceled with no notice no reason nothing. This was the 20 inch one we ordered and there were no other quick options so after getting frustrated after talking with another csr who was not able to help me get it reordered from amazon and give me a date for arrival, I reordered on my own and chose the other shipper and paid 40 bucks more plus paid for shipping etc. it was a nightmare process and took over a week to get in addition to the 3 days of dealing with amazon. I am only adding the shipping info for others in case another family / person needs a chair in a hurry so you’ll be aware of what we went through. It seems like a very sturdy chair and everything else was perfect, we only just got it so I’ll give it a while and add to my review once we see how well it does for us. Overall I have faith in the drive brand, a bit frustrated by the difference in the elevating leg rests and the not quite long enough bar for the footrests when the legs are fully raised, but we can work around that. Otherwise I think it’ll do us fine. Its a bit clunky and heavy for me I’m 4’10 so when I have to lift it into my truck for use in getting my Dad to his doctors it will be a momentary issue but I think considering what it does, how it is made, the ease of moving the parts, it’ll likely do us fine. One thing to mention is that the armrest release is just a piece of plastic. I can see how long term that might prove to be annoying if someone moves those armrests a lot that thin piece of plastic won’t likely last a long time or will wear down over time.** Update Aug 2023The chair was working well for us, Dad doesn’t use it often due to his doing better, but it is very helpful for when he has to go long distances, or needs to have a seat anywhere we go if he gets tired. However, somehow on one use, a super tiny clip that held one of the leg rests together disappeared. I suspect from moving the chair and rests to and from the truck. I called Drive directly, and they sent us 2 brand new leg rests free of charge. I was grateful because that tiny little thin metal clip held the whole dang thing together and I was using electrical tape to hold it together but that made it’s use much more difficult. I am SO totally impressed with Drive Medical for sending the free pair of leg replacements, they were caring, wanted to know what model it was for future chair updates and got me a new set of leg rests within 3 days. I’m updating my review from 4 stars to 5, their customer service was amazing and the new set of leg rests were also the type I had originally ordered with the push button adjustments, so that makes me very happy. I can’t say enough good things about Drive after this experience, the man I spoke with was just amazing.

I wanted to eventually buy one of the Nova Transport Wheelchairs after resesrching all day for almost a week, but for now i wanted a more basic, simple unit that would fit a tall, plus sized person but not be very wide and complicated but have fairly large, like 12” non flattening back wheels so it will not get stuck in every little crevice and throw me out onto the pavement. Countless reviews in all brands and models universally extolled the importance of large back tires. I believe polyethylene wheels would be insufficient and ruled them out also. The Medline unit I’m describing here has comforttable, forgiving uneven surfaces, 12” solid hard foam-like tires. It had thousands of positive reviews, I believe more than any other model or brand. My son came over and snapped this thing together in a couple of minutes, before I even came into the room. Granted, he’s a mechanical wizard, but when I pointed this out as a possible reason for his quick assembly of this unit, he assured me that he did not have time to employ his wizardry because the unit is a no wizardry necessary piece of equipment. He was prepared to do his voodoo, black magic, but it would’ve been wasting his black magic skill set assembly for this thing was child’s play. The very heavy duty seat snd back have some built in “puckerage” to allow for the user to sit with a little extra embrace rather than a taught hsrd drawn tight seat and back. Brakes are easy, quick and responsive. Google, Galenus Medical, whatever shopping service and put in “Medline Lightweight Yransport wheelchair cup holder and order one for youreelf for $15 or so. I did. I also ordered a slim hanging bag for hanging from the armrest and a really great, affordable cushion, i.e. “Essential Medical Supply N1103 18” X 16” X 3” Rehab 1 Cushion” made of extra firm high density foam. There is another brand of cushion which is around $16 but the reviews universally said it pancaked and was not resilient to resume it’s normal, factory shape. I spent $5 more and got this super duper comfy cushion. All this minutia I am passing along to you as the results of hours upon hours of research for a whole week of my life, to enable you to read this, go directly to these items and evaluate them as I did without wasting the valuable hours of your life rediscovering gobs upon gobs of unworthy shabby offerings, re-plowing all the same areas I have. This Medline Lightweight Transport Wheelchair is simple, strong, high quality, minimally intrusive and the only model that I found that fit all the requirements that I learned were vital or desirable. Soooo worth the price.
