This transfer board is make of very strong plastic materials. I am not sure it can hold 440 lbs, but it works for me very well. Seems quite strong. I really liked the curved design (better than those staight board) which is much easier to operate. The cut-out handle is very convenient to grasp and carrying around. The surface is already quite smooth and easy to move even without the slide sheet (I almost threw away the slide sheet with the packing box (it is hid inside the box). But is is way easier with the slide sheet. The hooks at end is very helpful too. Very good design.

This review is for the LOSCHEN Slide Transfer Board with Tubular Slide Sheet(24″x16″), Seniors Transfer from Wheelchair to Bed, Toilet, Tub, Car, Slide Assist Device for Transferring, Weight Capacity 440 lbThis slide board is about 31in long x 8in wide. It is a thick, hard plastic. There are no sharp edges. The board is ridged and has just a small amount of flexibility if I put it over my leg and push down on both ends. The top side is smooth and each end is beveled. The underside has long channels down the middle and each end has many raised, tiny pyramids to help keep from slipping.The board has a nice handle in the middle, a hole on either end which aids in picking it up, and a open hook type opening on each end to help hook it on a wheelchair and keep it in place.The tubular slide sheet is about 24in x 15.5in. It is made out of a nylon, windbreaker type material. It has 1 seam.I like the curved angle and beveled ends. The quality seems good. Including a slide sheet was also nice. (I almost threw it away as it was stuck to the inside of the box. )
