I did a lot of research before choosing this rollator. My criteria are affordability, light weight, large wheels, and compact dimensions when folded, which is a must for transporting in a car. This rollator meets and exceeds my expectations. It took me only a few minutes to set it up without using any tools. It feels solid and rolls very smoothly and quietly. And it happens to look very nice too, with the brake cables mostly hidden from view. HIghly recommended.

Takes up a lot less room when stored in my car!

I got this iLiving walker as a supplemental rollator for my 88 year-old mother who has Parkinson’s. I transport her to doctor’s appointments, shopping excursions, and restaurant outings, so I needed something that I could easily fold and stick in the trunk of my Toyota Camry. It fits in there perfectly, with room around it for groceries. If I needed to, I could fold it even further into a compact shape, with the wheels folded up against the body, but that takes more time and effort. It’s much easier to lift the seat strap to fold and to press on the seat side bars to lock. The assembly is easy and requires only a pair of scissors to cut off a few straps. The instructions, on the other hand, are too bare-bones to be of much help. I had to look at the walker to figure out stuff such as the need to remove and eventually replace locking pins. Although it’s all pretty much common sense, I knew the basics due to the recent assembly of another brand that she uses around her home. It took me about 10 minutes to get everything working and safe. The sling-type seat is barely padded, but the back rest has much thicker padding. I like that the bag that you attach in front is kept in place with wide, plastic knobs. So far, the bag hasn’t fallen off when placed inside and removed from my car, as a much older (now out-of-service) rollator did. Even though the rollator accommodates up to 300 pounds, the seat is a standard, not wide, width and will be a difficult fit for large/wide individuals. The rollator does have some issues that brought down my star rating. I wasn’t pleased that mine arrived with some areas where the blue paint had been scratched off to reveal the metal beneath. One brake cable has a small area where the plastic coating is scraped off. If I sit on it and shift my weight back and forth (I’m not heavy), the wheels wobble a little — not enough to be unsafe but enough that I question the longevity. Both my mother and I prefer the other brand (same price point) that I bought recently to this one, but I might have been happy with this iLiving version had I not been able to compare. The frame is sturdy, and the four 8″ wheels are essential for both mobility and stability, something my mother’s physical therapist said I should get. Models that have smaller wheels or two different sizes can be problematic, especially on carpet.I’m generally happy with this rollator, and it will get a lot of use. I just wish the frame were sturdier and the defects right out of the box not there.– Debbie Lee Wesselmann
