this commode had to be returned the first time because the legs were bent inward, one much more severe than the other.i was able to get a replacement free of charge for shipping or anything and the replacement has been great.the person using it is 300lbs. it holds up well and the seat is wide enough for very wide hips (maybe 36″ wide, more or less, didnt take their measurements).the back piece i think was put in backwards or perhaps it was made wrong, because out of the box, installed onto the seat, it is not flat, but the round part was at an angle that digs right into the persons back. i had to take it off and turn it around backwards to be able to use the chair with it on.it is sturdy, but the way that the legs are not straight up and down, i dont have faith that this would hold much more than 400lbs. the legs are welded, but the cross members in the corners are not very big. there is still an angle to the legs. not like the first one. these are uniform and not the same angle. they seem to be designed this way.the sides easily pop up and down. i dont know about longivity because we leave them where they are. they do move very well though and the mechanism is easy to use.ours came with the bucket, lid, and toilet funnel thing.the only down side i can see of this chair, but its most bedside commodes. there is no way to put a lid on the bucket after use while installed, and there being no lid on the seat itself, after use, the contents just sits there making the entire room smell like the commode.we personally are trying out a 5 gallon bucket, the toilet funnel, and wood shavings or pellets. it absorbs the liquid, and therefore the smell, we use a plastic measuring cup as a scoop. 1-2 scoops per use. i get the substrate from the local feed store. then it can be composted or disposed of. for me, it sure beats trying not to spill the bucket on the way to the toilet, and you cant tell there is a used commode in the room unless you look at it. great for visitors. the room doesnt smell. hope this helps someone.

I am very pleased with this portable toilet. I will definitely recommend it to anyone that would need something like this high quality.

i put this over our toilet so my hubby had support getting up and down, and the height is adjustable, WORTH THE MONEY!
