This was truly a Godsend. For the price we were nervous, but it has exceeded every expectation. The product was assembled in the box, the larger rear wheels make it easier for pushing and stability, and the seat was still comfortable even after long trips out. It folds down very easily and is lightweight so putting it in the trunk isn’t difficult. This is a highly recommended item!!!

Really glad I ordered this chair. I couldn’t lift Hubby’s ‘regular’ (heavy) wheelchair into a vehicle. He had multiple appointments coming up and I did NOT want to pay for a transportation van even one more time. This chair not only would arrive quickly but checked all the boxes–that is, after reading many reviews of various transport wheelchairs and learning what to look for.I absolutely LOVE how LIGHT and COMPACT this is! And the collapsible handles! They lock securely into place but also an easy press releases them to fold down. Absolutely no struggle. I can easily, quickly get this chair out of the back of the jeep and set up, or the reverse, in no time, which is SO valuable to me in winter weather when that wind whips right through me, brrrr. As chair size goes, I’d think it could fit in most any vehicle–any trunk or hatch anyway, and probably some back seats. Just my unfounded guess. As human size goes, it’s a slight squeeze for my female size 2X/3X hips to get past the arms, but not difficult or uncomfortable, and once past, the seat and back are comfortable. I’m not the user, however. Hubby’s 5’8″, 160 lb body has zero problems fitting and he says it’s quite comfortable. Also, I’m 5’7″ and the handle height is perfectly comfortable for me to push.He finds the padded arms to be comfy. The footrests are adjustable in length, and easy to put on, lock into place, or swing out of the way. They don’t lock out of the way, to the sides, however, and they fall off easily when loading the chair into the vehicle, but it’s no problem in my opinion, because it’s so easy to put them back on next time I unload it.Oh! Let’s not forget the selling point that is the hand brakes! Once I learned of such a thing, I zoned in on only chairs with this fantastic feature. I do have to bend over to put the footrests on, but at least I don’t have to bend every time brakes are called for. (Ok, bending isn’t necessarily a big deal but it’s certainly a bonus to not have to.) At first it seemed like the hand brakes didn’t work; I thought I might break them if I push down too hard. But I discovered it’s ok and necessary to push down firmly. It became no big deal after doing it once.Ok, I think I covered everything I can think of. I have zero regrets; I’m only thankful this chair, that makes my life easier (quick set-up in cold weather) and saves me substantial money by not paying for transportation, came into my life.

This transport chair could not be more perfect. It arrives fully assembled except for the foot rests, is incredibly sturdy and easy to use, yet is so lightweight (the lightest I found in my search) that it can easily be popped into a trunk or even a back seat of a car. I intentionally purchased one with the brake handles at the top so that I can actually use it as a walker for short distances, then have the most comfortable portable chair ever. I very much recommend getting the associated cushion which fits perfectly.

Drive Medical EXP19LTBL Lightweight Expedition wheel chair is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Hubby has Parkinsons and while he is mobile with a walker he gets tired. We have a very sturdy rollator – Drive Nitro, but it doesn’t have footrests. This model looked ideal for when he gets tired or the terrain is uneven. Took him to a museum yesterday and it was fine, however, it doesn’t roll well on gravel or curbs with even the tiniest elevation – you have to step on the mechanism to lift it. Also, the plastic components make me nervous. I fear that one might break at an inopportune moment. Sad, because this is the most awesome transport chair ever. I would gladly pay several hundred dollars more. Positive features include comfort, portability, weight, rear breaks and break lock which enables my husband to get in and out of it safely, armrests that are high enough for a tall person, etc., etc. Sad that Drive went in this direction re: plastic parts and less than optimal materials. Hoping this chair lasts us through the end of the year or that Drive comes out with an identical model that is affordable and built to last. In the meantime, hoping that parts that do break can be replaced.

Now that I really understand all the features of this wheelchair I absolutely love it for my 94-year-old mother. I’m 66 and I was worried about getting something I could put in and out of a car and handle and this is perfect. She usually uses a walker at the senior living facility. I took her to a Tigers baseball game yesterday and she sat in this chair for the whole game and was very comfortable. I did purchase separately, a memory foam cushion and bag for the back of it for outings. My only complaint is they don’t give you many instructions on how to use it, which seems common in so many products nowadays.

It’s light-weight enough for most people to lift. Folds up nicely to fit in back of a small suv
Judith B. White –
We took this wheelchair from the midwest to Portugal for a temporarily disabled family member and subjected it to very rough use. Amazingly, it held up to cobbled streets, cobbled hills, and gravel paths, for a solid week and it’s still going strong. Had I known how bumpy all the streets and sidewalks would be, I would have brought a seat cushion. Other than that this wheelchair is amazing. Maybe even indestructible. Certainly a good value–it saved our vacation.

Chair is light weight for quick get aways . Beats taking full size wheel chair when son can sit in truck and use chair for putting into truck and returning into house. Great value for price paid.

Like the larger tires and hand brakes. Is narrower than a standard chair but seems sturdy. Don’t like fact that there aren’t catches to hold foot rest/leg part when not in use. They hit against back tires and flop.
Galenus Medical Customer –
Is a nice chair and I like everything about it except the fact that the arms are up too high to roll under tables at restaurants

It has been great in transporting my husband. I couldn’t get his wheelchair in the car to transport it because of it’s weight, but this chair is about 50% lighter! It is great!!The Galenus Medical delivery, however, was horrible. The driver disregarded the delivery instructions completely (which were to delivery to front door). Instead the driver went up the private alley in the neighborhood, assessed our privacy fence, entered our locked back deck, and left it at the back door. This was very much entry into private property!!

I bought this chair for my wife as we had a trip to Italy and she was having walking issues. I pushed her over cobblestone streets and miles of walking and the chair held up beautifully. The chair folds down nicely and is easy to carry around or load in a trunk. I would recommend purchasing a Velcro strap with a handle so when the chair is collapsed, you can secure with Velcro and use the handle to transport. The only recommendation is the removable foot pedals should secure when you fold them in. This makes it easy for the person to use this as a walker if not sitting.
