After years of excruciating pain and trying, everything, this device changed my life and in such a short timeframe. For quite a long time I have suffered from debilitating, chronic pain from pinched nerves. Several chiropractic visits, physical therapy, and exercises are all part of the equation. While each can help as part of an overall treatment depending on situation, for me, none were solutions on their own. When I am compressed, this device provides incredible relief in a very short time. I do not feel like I am hostage to this and have truly regained my life.Note: The hand pump provides an initial pressure increase that causes the head rest to jump up and the device will quickly move up the track. Likewise on pressure release. Just be careful and it’s very helpful.Overall: Take it slow, it works. If this doesn’t immediately work for you, don’t be discouraged. It may take some time, several sessions, and corrections to help the body.

If you feel neck traction would be helpful for you, then I highly recommend this Brace Direct Cervical Traction Unit. While it has a higher price than the other neck traction devices I’ve ordered, this one actually does what it’s supposed to and in a comfortable way. In the past, I’ve tried several different neck traction products. I tried a neck traction product that went over the door. Even though you were supposed to be able to use it with the back of your head against the door, it wouldn’t work that way. You had to smash the front of your face against the door instead – not comfortable or effective. Then I tried one that goes around the doorknob. The “bungee” was so long, I couldn’t get any traction, and the top of my head was uncomfortably pushed against the door. Lastly, I tried the pulley system, also awkward and ineffective to use. You get the idea. While they may have cost less, they all went in the trash, every penny wasted and no relief for my neck. This product has changed that completely. It truly provides comfortable, easily adjustable neck traction. The pad that you rest your head on is comfortable and can be heated or cooled if you desire. You can adjust the “arms” that help to hold your head in place during traction and they are nicely padded and comfortable. The pump is easy to use, and the quick release feature works well. However, there are a couple things that I think could have been made better for such an expensive device. The head strap feels thin and cheap and is a bit awkward to put on. I have short hair but if you have longer hair, you’ll want to tie it up, so it doesn’t get caught in the knobs on either side that adjust the head support “arms”. I had a bit of a time trying to figure out how to adjust the angle of the unit. When those knobs are at their highest point, you have the lowest angle. To increase the angle, you push the knobs in and move them down to the next level which pushes the base out thereby increasing its height and the overall angle. I found this much easier to do if I laid the unit on its side first. Even with these minor things, this unit really does feel of professional grade and is the first device I’ve ordered that truly works. Highly recommend!

I was a little nervous to use this cervical traction unit at home. I took it into my appointment to go over with my PT, since I needed that extra confidence boost. She was impressed with the quality of it, and walked me through how to use it at home.I’ve been going in for appointments on and off for years, and traction has always been useful for me (much needed relief!) The relief, even though temporary, boosts my mood and improves the quality of my day.Unfortunately, appointments are expensive and difficult to get. There are also a limited number of sessions I’m covered for. They recommended that I try at-home traction. I’ve tried the cheaper options (the door thing, the inflatable pillow thing, the foam pillow ones for the floor). Some are okay, some are not useful, and honestly, I wish I’d just ordered something like this years ago.+ Remember to START SMALL. Do not use it for too long, even if it feels good. (I did this with one of the cheaper devices – oof!)+ Please check in with your doctor to make sure this is a good fit. It’s expensive, so it would be a pity if it wasn’t right for you.+ I wear my hair in a loose bun on top my head, which helps keep it from getting pulled when getting settled.+ The gel pads are comfortable. I also think the instructions are sufficient. I appreciate there are video guides available, as well.+ I wish it had a case to store it in, but it is small enough that I shove it under my sofa when I’m not using it.TLDR: This has improved my daily life, and I’m grateful for the relief.
