I needed this railing for my husband’s side of the bed. He has some mobility issues, and this railing is very sturdy and prevents him from accidentally rolling off the side of the bed. I recommend this for anyone else who is concerned with their loved ones safety.

My mom experienced an almost fatal brain injury, viral meningitis, about 5 and a half years ago. She’s reached the point where she can barely move and she experienced a fall earlier last week in the middle of the night and was on the floor for hours before we found her 💔💔😭 she had scooted herself back to her room, and was stuck by her bed. Once my dad and I were awakened we scrambled into action to get her off the floor. I used to work as a CNA in rehabilitation so I’m really familiar with how to help here, I am just incapable of lifting an entire adult human off the floor when their muscles don’t cooperate. Dad and I both tweaked our backs/injuries when finally getting her off the floor. Once she was settled back in bed, I got right on Galenus Medical and searched for a bed rail. This one arrived really quickly and had great reviews already. It is hefty, and I really think it’ll hold up. I’ve been coaching her on how to use it, lots of practice, and continuing to encourage her to use her mobility aids and tools. The pockets are great and she can put her glasses, some chapstick, her book, and the emergency button that connects directly to me. If she ends up on the floor again we will have a much easier time remedying the situation. I like this bed rail more than the ones we used in rehab. It works really well and she is finding it easier to stand up or of bed, and easier to get into bed. Easy to assemble, and easy to install. I purchased this after falling out of bed while having a bad dream. At my age, falling out of bed is a really bad thing to do, so I decided to be pro-active and get one of these installed to prevent any future falls. It has been so useful to help in positioning myself in bed, as well as getting out of bed. Making the bed is not hampered in any way if a bit of space is left between the mattress and the frame of the handle. I can highly recommend this product.
