Ordered this model since another reviewer mentioned the versatile programmability. There are many built in pre programmed settings.I have a rare nerve disease, Parsons Turner Syndrome or brachial plexitis, which led to mainly posterior deltoid muscle atrophy but some medial deltoid head as well. Physical Therapist recommended the use of a TENS EMS, similar to Russian stim, machine which targets muscles and nerves stimulation. This will allow the atrophied muscle to fire even with nerve damage.Straight forward to use the machine. Charge it up, plug in the diodes and attach to target muscle group. Select a pre entered program or enter your own parameters and your ready to work. For my needs it was difficult to place the diodes since my target area was a nerve buried deep where the three deltoid muscles attach. So if your target area isn’t common, you may need to do some research or you may have to self-experiment with different diode placements.Great muscle stimulation with not much work. It didn’t turn me into a body builder but it was able to activate shoulder muscle even with a damaged brachial nerve.

The power of this unit is amazing. Long uses and still has battery life to spare. I was in a car accident two years ago and this does what the chiro did but better. The programs work, and I found the book to be very helpful. It’s my second day of treatment and I’m so impressed. You can set it manually as well so it can do exactly what the docs office did, but there is a learning curve for that. The unit works in hertz pulse and wavelengths, a little electrical experience goes a long way. But like I said presets for those of us who need immediate relief!!

This is very similar to a model I got long ago called the DuoStim, which was removed from over the counter sales, probably due to the power levels.I am pleased to say that even though this model has lower voltage (50 as opposed to 80), it is still quite powerful, and retains a feature I found in one of the earlier units I had – the ability to use different circuits in close proximity without degrading the power applied. This model is also quite a bit less expensive. There is also a very similar model from iStim, but that is priced a bit higher than this. I have one of those and consider them pretty much identical, and equally as good.It is even mentioned in the instructions that one may use electrode sets in very close proximity or even crossing paths without problem. Just be aware that the channels will add together delivering more power to the treated area.I was worried about the life of the charge in the battery, but it lasts far longer under heavy use than I would have thought. I have had it last over a week of every day use (for an hour or more a day) before the battery needed recharging. I am very pleased with that. While it is outstanding for TENS use, it is also very capable for “off the book” estim uses, provided one exercises proper caution – again it is very powerful. It also adds some pre-programmed settings, such as a rise from 2-125hz, that I personally have found useful in this kind of application. You will have fun exploring the presets.I do not know how it will hold up over time, but the older model from a different vendor has lasted nearly a decade.I consider it the best TENS unit I have used so far, especially for those “other” uses. Highly recommended.
