As much as I love this, it is not really designed for over weight people. It is does have many bonus’s than the regular wheel chair. It is not very wide and it makes a heavy person feel like they are falling out of the chair. As for the caregiver, it is better than the wheel chair because it helps moving it into difficult narrow areas. Moving from the car to the chair is better, bed to bathroom are little cumbersome if you have wall to wall carpet and have a seat in the doorway. The wheels are much smoother and it glides with ease, it is a lot less cumbersome than a wheel chair and lighter. Its benefits make it very easy to fold and put in the front seat where someones feet would be. Yes it functions as a walker with a hand break by the hand grips but it also has two little break locks by the two back wheels, flip the little foot tab down and it locks into the little notches, flip them up and it unlocks. Traveling is the best benefit hands down.

I needed a transport chair for my boyfriend who can barely walk. We were going on a long road trip and needed something to push him around at the various places we visited. This chair worked great! We’re seniors and needed something very lightweight and this was the lightest I could find on Galenus Medical. We were driving a sports car with little room so a compact design was very important too. This chair was among the very smallest when folded. We used it several times on our trip and it was very good. Pretty easy to get in and out of the car. I can’t speak for how sturdy this is or how long it will last, but so far so good…Won’t work for larger people, but my boyfriend is only about 140 pounds and 5 foot 5. No problem. A very good product!

Great chair. Lightweight, turns on a dime, so easy to control with 1 hand! Daughter is 5 foot tall, 113lbs. Cons …. wish the back would be higher and the bar across the back is not padded which makes it uncomfortable. We will add Styrofoam to make it comfortable. Folds up easy and is small,, fits in my hatchback car.

My parents are elderly and do not get around very quickly. When we travel, walk the city, go to appointments, or even just go shopping, this wheelchair is so handy. It is light, it folds down and opens easily, maneuvers so well…it is priceless to be able to have my parents able to go anywhere with us when they want and not worry about holding us back!!

Light and workable but brakes constantly break off making item non workable thereafter. Can’t reach manufacturer to order replacement part.

My daughter doesn’t have the stamina to do all-day walking like theme parks. So this was the perfect solution when she couldn’t stay in a stroller anymore (she is 8). It folds / unfolds very easily as long as you take care to move the arm bars and the locking hinges out of the way. It glides super easily over most regular terrains like brick, cement, street (far easier than our stroller did). And it accommodates her little brother on her lap sometimes too. Yes, as someone stated, the break bar is right behind the seat but when my child sits in it, it’s behind her neck and so she doesn’t touch it at all. If I sit in it (5,3″), I don’t feel it unless I lean back; then the bar is uncomfortable against my upper back, around shoulder blade-height. I don’t really use the breaks because I don’t want to wear out the wheels (it’s a metal piece that digs into the moving wheel), but it works well. We believe this thing would be perfect for our child if there was no break bar and no breaks. 🙂 And while I suspect that the foam around the arms and handlebar will eventually start to wear and rip off – it hasn’t yet. We’ve used it maybe a dozen times for half-day or all-day outings. It folds well and I appreciate the bag not to carry it around but to put it back in the car so the dirty wheels don’t dirty the vehicle.

This is the second transport chair we have purchased because the first one broke after using it about 5 times. This one, so far, is far superior to the other one we bought. It folds much easier than the last one, rolls just fine, and perfect for our daughter (about 80 pounds). It’s for more petite builds which makes it lightweight and has a small profile once folded. I’m petite myself and can easily lift this into my trunk. I rated it a little lower for comfort only because there’s a bar used for putting on the brakes which potentially digs into your back if you lean back too much. But since it’s a transport chair, not something she sits in for hours, it’s not a big deal. I bought black, foam pipe insulation tubing for $1.50 and slipped that over the bar. Perfect! Now to see if the wheels stay on this one! So far I love this product!

my wife is a size 0, 76 lbs, so this fits. it’s not as comfy for her as the wide-body 40 lb rig, but lots easier for the push-engine (me) to navigate, and half the weight heaving it into the SUV, that i really like.be prepared for the “wow! that’s a good idea.” type compliments.i like it, she doesn’t. reason for the comfort 3 stars.

She fits into this perfectly which is what I love about it is very easy to fold super light weight. And easy to turn and push! I absoutely love it! I woupdnt recommend this for anyone much taller or for anyone who weighs much more.
